Meet the 2016 - 2017 NIH BTP (Biomolecular Technology Program) Trainees

2016-17 NIH Trainees


Karan Agrawal - This is Karan's 2nd term as a NIH Trainee and he is a member of the Pharmacology and Toxicology graduate group. His PI is Prof. John Newman (Dept. of Nutrition & USDA-ARS). Karan's research project title is, "Investigating Sweat Lipid Mediator Profiling: Biological Origins and Clinical Potential".

Jasmine Corbin - This is Jasmine's 2nd term as a NIH Trainee and she is a member of the Chemical Engineering graduate group. Her PI is Prof. Karen McDonald (Chemical Engineering Dept. & ADVANCE). Jasmine's research project title is, "Process Development for the Production of a Heterologous Glycoprotein in Transgenic Rice Cell Culture".

Maika Malig - Maika is in the Integrative Genetics and Genomics graduate group, her PI is Prof. Frédéric Chédin (Dept. of Molecular and Cellular Biology). Maika's research project title is, "Developing Novel Genomic Tools to Characterize RNA:DNA Hybrid Formations on Mammalian Genomes".

Linda Su - Linda is a member of the Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology graduate group. Her PI is Prof. Alex Nord (Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior Dept.). Linda's research project title is, "Analysis of Single Cells in Brain Development Using Genetic Labeling and Single-Cell RNA-Sequencing".

Sana Vaziri - This is Sana's 2nd term as a NIH Trainee and she is a member of the Computer Science graduate group. Her PI is Prof. Sharon Aviron (Biomedical Engineering Dept.). Sana's research project title is, "Algorithms for Improved RNA Structure Analysis from Sequence and Probing Data".

Cody Watson Yothers - Cody is in the Chemistry graduate group and his PI is Prof. Annaliese France (Chemistry Dept.). His research project title is, "Sustainable Bioproduction of Therapeutic Lipids from Microalgae".
